about cruz crops
Cruz Crops is a participant in the Howard County New & Beginning Farmer Program. We farm a small 1/2 acre plot in Howard County, Maryland through the Howard County Office of Agriculture. We have a variety of produce, some of which is customary to Central American culture.
Â
At Cruz Crops, we believe in being good stewards of the land that God has blessed us with. We consider ourselves lifetime students of agriculture, and are eagerly learning about sustainable and regenerative agriculture.Â
Â
Cruz Crops believes in providing fresh, healthy produce to the local community, and we cherish the connections we make with others as we fullfill this mission. Access to fresh, local and affordable produce is very important to us. We currently participate in the Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). We accept both Senior FMNP and WIC FMNP. Â
Our Story
Cruz Crops farms with humility and purpose
Farmer Cruz's farming journey began as a child in El Salvador, Central America. Growing up in a family of 9 in rural El Salvador, farming was a means of survival, and everyone pitched in. The food was humble, but healthy and fresh. The family was able to trade, barter and gift the food they grew with their local community.

Upon immigrating to the United States, Farmer Cruz landed in suburban Howard County. He thrived financially for years in various non-agricultural jobs, but he missed the tastes of home, the family gatherings over freshly harvested food, and the sense of community that agriculture used to bring him.Â
Â
In 2025, Farmer Cruz decided it was time to merge the opportunities in America, with his rural, agricultural roots in El Salvador. He now is teaching his children about farming, and eagerly learning alongside them, thanks to the wealth of agricultural education the USA has to offer.
Â
Cruz Crops humbly invites you to share our produce with your family, friends and community, and cherish the time spent together.Â
